Econsultancy is one of the Netherlands’ leading environmental consultant agencies with a strong platform of multidisciplinary solutions for a wide range of both private and public clients within the fields of ecology, biodiversity, archaeology, infrastructure, water, and soil as well as land surveying using drones. Econsultancy supports the Dutch society’s green transition within the areas of climate change and green transition with a strong focus on ecological and environmental sustainability.

Sweco is Europe’s largest architectural and engineering consultancy and is listed on the Nasdaq Stockholm. Sweco designs and develops the sustainable societies and cities of the future. Together with customers and the knowledge of 17,500 architects, engineers, and consultants, Sweco creates smart solutions for the urban area.

Through this acquisition, Sweco strengthens its team with over 200 experts who are joining the company’s Dutch organisation of 1,900 engineers, environmental consultants, and architects. Econsultancy had a turnover of approximately EUR 15m during 2022 and Sweco Netherlands about 214m.

The acquisition is in line with Sweco’s acquisition strategy to grow the business by adding key competencies that complement Sweco’s 21,000 experts, and it will strengthen the offering to clients as well as expand the Group’s market position as Europe’s leading architecture and engineering consultancy.
